The replication generated an error (1753): There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.

Active Directory replication reached the remote RPC endpoint mapper, but the required replication service endpoint could not be resolved or was not registered correctly.

Observed message

The replication generated an error (1753): There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper.

Why it happens

  • The expected server-side replication service endpoint was not registered with the RPC endpoint mapper.
  • The remote domain controller service started incorrectly or failed during initialization.
  • DNS or name-to-IP mapping caused the destination controller to contact the wrong server.

How to fix it

  1. Verify that the source domain controller and its replication-related services are running correctly.
  2. Check DNS and any host-name overrides so the destination controller resolves the correct source domain controller.
  3. Use DCDIAG and REPADMIN output together to determine whether the issue is service startup, name resolution, or endpoint registration.
