Microsoft Entra could not find the application in the directory

AADSTS700016: Application with identifier was not found in the directory.

Microsoft Entra ID could not locate the application identifier in the target tenant, so the authentication request could not continue.

AADSTS700016: Application with identifier was not found in the directory.
  • The application identifier is wrong or points to a deleted or missing app registration.
  • The request is being sent to the wrong tenant.
  • The app has not been provisioned in the directory being targeted.
  1. Confirm the application client ID and tenant used by the request.
  2. Check that the app registration exists in the intended Microsoft Entra tenant.
  3. If this is a multitenant scenario, verify that the app is available and consented in the target tenant.
