Why it happens

  • The client is behind a proxy that requires authentication.
  • Proxy credentials are missing, expired, or incorrect.
  • The request is using the wrong proxy endpoint or authentication method.

How to fix it

  1. Check the proxy settings the client is using and confirm the proxy actually requires authentication.
  2. Provide valid proxy credentials using the expected authentication method.
  3. If the request should not use that proxy, update the network or application proxy configuration.
