Active Directory replication found a lingering object
The local domain controller has attempted to replicate the following object from the following source domain controller. This object is not present on the local domain controller because it may have been deleted and already garbage collected.
Active Directory replication was blocked by a lingering object, meaning one controller still has an object that another controller already deleted and garbage collected.
The local domain controller has attempted to replicate the following object from the following source domain controller. This object is not present on the local domain controller because it may have been deleted and already garbage collected.
Why it happens
One domain controller missed replication long enough for deleted objects to be garbage collected elsewhere.
Replication has been broken or delayed beyond the tombstone lifetime window.
The source controller still holds stale objects that no longer exist on healthy partners.
How to fix it
Identify the stale object and confirm which controller has the authoritative state.
Remove lingering objects using the supported Active Directory cleanup process.
Restore normal replication quickly and monitor controllers that are approaching long replication gaps.
