Active Directory replication failed because a directory object was not found

Directory object not found.

Active Directory replication could not complete because it expected a referenced directory object that was missing or no longer available.

Directory object not found.
  • A required directory object was deleted, moved, or is missing from one side of replication.
  • Metadata or references in Active Directory point to an object that no longer exists.
  • Replication consistency problems left one controller with incomplete object state.
  1. Use repadmin and directory diagnostics to identify the missing or inconsistent object reference.
  2. Check whether the object was deleted legitimately or whether replication divergence created a mismatch.
  3. Repair the inconsistent object state or remove stale references before forcing replication again.
