The replication generated an error (8453): Replication access was denied.

Active Directory replication failed because the destination controller or operator lacked the permissions required for the requested replication action.

The replication generated an error (8453): Replication access was denied.
  • The destination domain controller does not have the required replication permissions.
  • The user who triggered ad-hoc replication does not have sufficient rights.
  • The domain controller computer account is missing required trust or delegation flags.
  1. Run the recommended DCDIAG security checks on the source and destination domain controllers.
  2. Verify the required permissions on the affected naming context or partition.
  3. Inspect the destination domain controller computer account for the expected UserAccountControl flags.
