Active Directory replication failed because insufficient attributes were given to create an object

Insufficient attributes were given to create an object. This object may not exist because it may have been deleted.

Active Directory replication hit lingering-object or object-lifecycle inconsistency problems, so the destination controller could not reconstruct the object update safely.

Insufficient attributes were given to create an object. This object may not exist because it may have been deleted.
  • A lingering object or deleted object lifecycle mismatch exists between domain controllers.
  • Strict replication consistency is enabled and the destination cannot reanimate the referenced object.
  • The source is sending an update for an object already deleted and garbage-collected on the destination.
  1. Investigate lingering objects and confirm whether the problem is transient or permanent.
  2. Review strict replication consistency settings on the affected destination controller.
  3. Follow the Microsoft remediation workflow for cleaning up lingering objects before retrying replication.
