Adobe Creative Cloud installation failed with Error 2

Error code: 2

One or more files inside the AdobeGenuineClient folder are missing or corrupted. This folder contains files that verify the authenticity of Adobe software, and without them the installer cannot complete.

  • Files inside the AdobeGenuineClient folder are missing or corrupted.
  • The Creative Cloud desktop app is outdated and has not regenerated the Adobe Genuine Service files.
  • A third-party cleanup tool accidentally removed essential Adobe verification files.
  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app, go to the Apps tab, and install any available updates — this will recreate the AdobeGenuineClient files.
  2. If you cannot open the app, download and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app from Adobe's website.
  3. Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool for a full clean reinstall if the above steps do not resolve the issue.
